Enroll your device and securely share company files with Microsoft Intune

Microsoft Intune is a device management tool that allows organizations to customize and enroll external devices as part of their organization’s equipment. As part of the Microsoft Endpoint management service, it allows Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM). This allows modalities such as BYOD (bring your own device) and it’s perfect for hybrid and remote modalities. However, many users have a common concern: if I enroll my device what information does my organization see? Even though your organization may be using your personal device for work tasks, you can be sure that your personal information will not be seen by people in your organization or IT team.

By enrolling a device in Microsoft Intune, your organization will be able to see:

  • See device model and serial number from your device
  • Device owner
  • Device name
  • Manufacturer
  • Operating system
  • Device IMEI
  • App inventory and app names
  • Storage size
  • Location (only on corporate owned devices)

Since Intune can manage apps, there may be apps that your organization can request to download on your device, upon enrollment to improve your workflow.

What information does my organization cannot see on my Intune managed device?

  • Calling history
  • Web browsing history
  • Email and text messages
  • Contacts
  • Calendar
  • Passwords
  • Pictures saved or in camera roll
  • Files
  • Additionally, on corporate-owned Android devices with a work profile:
    • Apps and data in your personal profile
    • Phone number

Microsoft values privacy above all, you can be sure that the information your organization sees on Intune is strictly required. In summary, if your organization is using Microsoft Intune as an MDM or MAM, your personal data is safe. Microsoft uses tools that will improve your productivity without being on your organization’s location. Configure policies for any type and range of devices, deploy apps, and ensure your organization’s data seamlessly by applying Intune. Start a conversation with Team Venti’s Intune experts today.
