Azure Percept: Threat detection in airports, bus stations, and retail
During our current time and remembering the uncertainty we experienced in 2020, providing peace-of-mind for customers in airports, malls, bus, and train stations is crucial. Organizations are in search of a comprehensive and flexible threat detection and management solution, like Azure Percept.
What is Azure Percept?
It is a comprehensive, easy-to-use platform with added security for creating edge AI solutions.
It allows you to start your proof of concept in a manner of minutes, with hardware accelerators built to integrate seamlessly with Azure AI and Azure IoT services.
Azure Percept works out of the box with Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Machine Learning, among other Azure services, to deliver real-time vision and audio insights.
During the Microsoft Azure Percept Bootcamp, a team of HCL developed a threat detection solution, using Azure Percept’s capabilities, to identify suspicious objects and generate alerts and act in a timely manner.
How does it work?
The solution leverages the Azure Cognitive Services object detection model.
It processes real-time video stream at the edge, while channeling the telemetry data to the Azure IoT Hub. Furthermore, the data is sent to Azure Stream Analytics for processing and filtering, and then, the gathered insights are forwarded to Power BI or Management Engine for the mapping of threats, aggregation over time periods, and visualization.
