Thrive in the age of hybrid work

If someone had told us we’d be working 100% remotely around this time in history, we wouldn’t have believed it.

According to the 2021 Work Trend Index, 66% of leaders are considering redesigning office space for hybrid work, and 73% of employees are hoping flexible remote work stays.

And that’s how, slowly, hybrid work is becoming the norm. The way we work and connect with our coworkers has shifted, and organizations must keep the pace of change to stay on top of their growth and performance.

Although digital work has plenty of upsides to consider, getting used to changes as big as adopting a new work style has its challenges too.

“When you lose connections, you stop innovating.” Dr. Nancy Baym, Senior Principal Researcher at Microsoft.

Luckily, experts have worked on new and already existing platforms to help overcome the adapting process, such as the following:

Microsoft Viva

At the beginning of 2021, Microsoft launched the first employee experience platform, Microsoft Viva. This with the intention of bringing together:

  • Employee engagement
  • Learning and training
  • Wellbeing experiences
  • Knowledge discovery

Microsoft Teams: Communities app enhancement

Stay connected to what’s happening in your communities with the Communities app in Microsoft Teams. From tapping into knowledge across teams to best practices from frontline workers.

Outlook for the web: Add Communities

At the beginning of July 2021, Microsoft announced an update for Outlook for the web in which you could now add your apps.

Now, with the possibility to add Yammer to Outlook for the web, you’ll be able to engage and participate in conversations and live events, without leaving the Outlook app.

Microsoft Teams: Q&A in meetings

The Q&A app allows attendees to ask and reply to questions during a meeting. Organizers and presenters can moderate this section, and responses are threaded in a conversation with the original question.
