What is SOC 2 Type 1 compliance?

SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a set of auditing standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It defines criteria for managing customer data based on five “Trust Service Principles”:

Security: Protection against unauthorized access.

Availability: Ensuring systems are available for operation and use.

Processing Integrity: Ensuring system processing is complete, valid, accurate, timely, and authorized.

Confidentiality: Protecting confidential information.
